Rubbing usually means lateral misalignment or an uneven reveal. Nudge the side-to-side screw or raise the door slightly on its plate. Check that cup depth isn’t too shallow. Lightly shim a plate if the cabinet is out of square, then test again carefully.

For holes that don’t line up, fill with glued wooden dowels or toothpicks and let them cure fully. Re-drill pilot holes accurately and drive screws by hand to avoid over-torquing. Keep screws snug, not crushed. Report back with photos if alignment still drifts.
